Great Motorcycle Routes in Maryland

From the warm and friendly beaches of the eastern shore, to the extreme scenery of western Maryland, to the lighthouses of southern Maryland and the historical locations near our nations capital, Maryland has plenty to see. Below are some of the best routes to use to see Maryland. The "National Road" America's first national highway follows a trail used by George Washington as a route to link the bustling port of Baltimore with the interior of a fledgling nation. The ride begins in Baltimore's downtown and Inner Harbor and then traveling west along Route 144. West of Frederick the road follows route 40 through the Appalachian Mountains to Cumberland. This road has numerous attractions along the way, including the B&O Railroad Station Museum, Thomas Isaac's Log Cabin, Old South Mountain Inn, Washington Monument State Park, C&O Canal National Historic Park Visitor Center, Western Maryland Scenic Railroad, Thrasher Carriage Museum, LaVale Toll Gate House, Casselman River Bridge, and more. If you have some time to spend and love history, this is a ride for you. Keyser's Ridge to Deep Creek Lake State Park Start in Keyser's Ridge and go west on I-68. Exit at Friendsville.
